Shannon met Stroud while he was being treated for addiction, and they married in a courtroom ceremony on their six-month wedding anniversary.
Mama June Shannon shares details about her new husband, Justin Stroud, in an exclusive trailer on Friday's episode of Mama June: Road to Redemption.
"I'm grateful for the man I found, Justin," she said during the couple's support group while filming the TLC show. "I have a wonderful husband here."
Before marrying Stroud on March 23, Shannon struggled with drug addiction and admitted having had an "abusive relationship" with their ex-husband Jeno Doak.
After confessing her feelings to him, she becomes his girlfriend six days later, and the couple wed in a courthouse ceremony on their 6-month anniversary.
She offered advice to the band, often quoted by her new husband: "And as he likes to say, everyone is a great rock star, and if someone can't be at your level, it's not worth your presence."
In the video, Stroud admits he's adjusting to his new reality where "everyone wants a piece of Junebug," reassuring him, "I know it's awesome, but I'll hold your hand for a bit."
"Justin is so different from Geno, Sugarbeer, every other guy in my life," she said. "To be honest, he showed me how to treat someone well. He supported me in my recovery and in everything I wanted to do. He didn't worry about my bank account. For example, it makes me very happy.
He added, "That mom rocked my world." But instead, June claims that her relationship with Doak brought disaster in some of the lowest moments of her life.
"I lost everything. I spent about $250,000 on [marijuana] drugs in four and a half months. It got to the point where my addicts were worried - they wouldn't give me drugs.".
She continues, "I have to wake up every day and say to myself, 'I'm going to stay clean for the next 24 hours no matter what happens in my life.'
