Murray lost to an American tennis star in the second round of the tournament
Andy Murray crashed out of Wimbledon after losing to John Isner on Wednesday.
According to the news, Murray, 35, was beaten in the second round after facing Isner, 37, in four thrilling sets.
The defeat marked the two-time champion's earliest elimination from the tournament. "Has today's game changed your mind? No," said Murray of what it takes against elite opponents. "Tonight's game; I don't understand why I must change my mind completely."
"I think most of the players on tour will tell you that a game like this is won or lost based on a few points here and there. Unfortunately, I didn't play well enough tonight with those points," he added. When he introduced himself, Murray admitted he "certainly didn't serve well enough early in the game" but credited Isner's overall ability as one of the key factors for the game.
"Look, he's a tough opponent," said Murray.
Serena Williams, who has won seven Wimbledon singles wins during her impressive career, crashed out in the first round after losing to France's Harmony Tan in an intense tiebreak earlier this week.
The first-round loss came almost a year after Williams suffered a hamstring injury that prevented her from advancing to the first round. After the 2021 game, Williams told the news that he felt his future was in doubt as he recovered from the injury he sustained against Alexandra Sasnovich at Wimbledon in 2021.
