The day after Tony's awards ceremony, Hugh Jackman shared a video on Instagram that he had a coronavirus for the second time.
Hugh Jackman tested positive for COVID-19 the day after appearing at Sunday's 75th Annual Tony Awards.
"I want you to be the first to hear from me, so, unfortunately, I was not able to test positive for COVID again this morning," he began.
Jackman, who currently plays the role of Professor Harold Hill in Meredith Willson's The Music Man on Broadway, added that he would be replaced by his contingent Max Clayton.
At Sunday's Tony Awards, which required PCR tests for the orchestra's members, the 53-year-old actor was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Musical by Myles Frost of MJ the Musical. Jackman also performed "76 Trombones" with Sutton Foster and his cast during the ceremony.
Jackman praised Clayton for his video: "Max and I have been working on this show for over two years ... I can tell you that I am in the room with him and that he is amazing."
"I'm just sad that I don't see him, and I can't be happy," he added. "But I make you happy in my heart, Max. And really, throughout my cast of The Music Man, I don't want you there, but I'll be back as soon as possible."
