The actress said it was difficult for someone who "used to be very strong and very active" to injure her Achilles tendon.
The 49-year-old actress is back in sports after injuring her Achilles tendon and is feeling a calming change from her usual high-intensity workouts; she told close friend Gwyneth Paltrow in the latest issue of Goop.
Apart from sharing her favorite leather and wine products, Diaz writes about her recovery from injury.
"I'm still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, so I haven't worked out in eight months," said the Charlie's Angels star. "I used to be very strong and active, and I was kept motionless for a while."
"And for anyone trying to bounce back from something like that, it doesn't have to be an injury; It can happen postpartum or with any process in life that is holding you back — the way to make it easy for yourself is to go through it." on my strengths, and I had to do the opposite." Mother of daughter Radix, 2, with husband Benji Madden, said she had to "take so many steps in my head before I took the right step," and she's trying to think about what will make him feel better every time.
"I put my body on the floor a lot trying to figure out what was needed: maybe my thighs needed to be bent or my back needed to be bent," she says. "I didn't force him to do anything, and I respect that I got injured.
"It's not about going back to my regular training. Instead, it was a rebuilding process, and I feel stronger now than when I started."
Diaz, who will turn 50 on August 30, said he believed the recovery process would be necessary for the next decade.
"I'm looking forward to all aspects of growing up in my 50s," he said. "I'm working on building my muscle mass, so I'll have it when my hormones change."
