"More than two months ago, I had my last round of chemotherapy before a mastectomy," Alicia White told her Instagram followers on Wednesday

Alicia White opened up about her battle with cancer two months after finishing chemotherapy.

On Wednesday, the 46-year-old actress shared a video of her hitting a gong in honor of the end of her treatment and a photo of herself holding her official certificate. She also posted selfies and pictures of herself, removing the veil from her head and chest.

"More than two months ago, I had my last chemo before a mastectomy," Whit wrote alongside the image and video.

She sends love to her "beloved, brilliant, cooperative, communicative doctor," adding that a Tennessee oncologist was there to see her ring the bell. "While we still didn't know for sure until after the mastectomy that my left breast disease was completely cured, it marked the end of my carboplatin/taxotere+herceptin/feathers (the latter two being immunotherapy according to the HER2+ protocol by the end of this year)," continued White.

He also welcomed the "little crew of human angels" who were with him for the six treatments, saying they "kept my mood" and changed his therapy cap to minimize hair loss when needed.

"Although hair maintenance on a wider scale is my last concern, I want to keep my diagnosis a secret until it's 100% cured, God willing," he added.

Wit continued: "I am so grateful to everyone along the way during treatment which has honored me for protecting my privacy during these months. Find her journey in her time when she is ready."

The star said the opportunity to keep the news a secret was "a much-needed part of my healing" as she mourned the loss of her parents, Robert and Diane Whit, who was found died at their home in Worcester, Massachusetts, last December around the same time Whit "started" his treatment.

A month after her death, she first revealed the tragedy on Facebook and Instagram, sharing several photos of her parents.
