Terry Irwin remembers his late husband.
Australian conservationist and zoo owner shared a retro photo of himself and Steve Irwin celebrating their three-decade wedding anniversary.
"I married this amazing man 30 years ago today," wrote Terry, 57, on Twitter on Friday. "What an adventure! Love and legacy live on."
Last year, Terry spoke to The Courier-Mail about his relationship with the Crocodile Hunter, who died in 2006 at 44 after being struck by a stingray off Australia's northern coast. "You know, I keep saying that, and I think maybe 15 years later, people are finally starting to believe me; Steve is that for me," she admits of her love life.
"That's all," he added. "I had great love, and it lasted a lifetime." Also my male friends are more comfortable; they see that I'm not chasing them," he told the publication. "I'm too busy chasing someone."
Terry and Steve first met in 1991 when Terry stopped by a small reptile park in Australia, where Steve was then working as a zookeeper. The couple married in June 1992. At 14, the couple had a daughter Bindi, 23, and a son Robert, 18.
In 2018, Terry admitted to PEOPLE that he hasn't dated since Steve's death: "I think it's awesome when a person who lost someone finds love again, but I'm personally looking and haven't dated." after 27 years," she said. "It's been so long. I've had some amazing women invite me because they decided that way. But I'm happy. I have two beautiful children, full plates. I ate my happiness at the end of his life."
"Even though you lose someone, no one is prepared for it," Terry added. "Steve's incident was so unexpected it was very challenging."
