The co-host of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast met his fiancé on Bachelor in Paradise last year after splitting from Garrett Yrigoyen in 2020.
After splitting from his fiancé Gareth Irigoyen with whom he got engaged at the end of the 2018 season of The Bachelorette Kufrin, 32, traveled to Bachelor in Paradise last summer and hooked up with Thomas Jacobs.
Last month, Kufrin announced his marriage proposal to 29-year-old Jacobs—and now he's telling news about his engagement and why he "feels right" this time.
"I feel like we can live in it and celebrate," said one of The Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast hosts. "There used to be so much publicity and attention that it felt weird. It felt like the past."
"This one suits us and is more calm and intimate," he added.
Kufrin said his engagement and separation from 33-year-old Irigoyen received much attention from Bachelor Nation. While he understands fandom, he also wants people to understand the situation better.
"I wish people had more respect for my time and personal life," he said of the breakup. "I hope people will push for more.
"Who would have thought they needed to make a farewell statement that thousands or millions would see of people? It was not something I had ever planned in my life," he said. "But I signed up for TV shows to present a part of my life there. I want people to realize that not everything is fair to the public."
Another aspect of Kufrin's life that has received mixed reviews is his recent proposal to change his gender roles - but the former bachelor says that hasn't stopped him and Jacobs from enjoying the moment.
