During Wednesday's episode of "The View," co-host Sunny Hostin contended that both "pretty privilege" and "White privilege" contributed to the popularity of Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

Hostin highlighted that societal biases extend beyond race to include factors like appearance and height, emphasizing the disparities faced by athletes like Brittney Griner in comparison to their counterparts.

The discussion arose from former ESPN host Jemele Hill's assertion that Clark's appeal was shaped by her race and sexuality. Hostin, however, clarified that she had no qualms about Clark bringing attention to the WNBA, which could potentially benefit other players financially.

Hostin continued by pointing out that Clark's relatability to a wider audience may stem from her race, attractiveness, and the unfortunate lingering stigma against the LGBTQ+ community.

She emphasized the need to address this stigma, particularly in a league where a significant percentage of players are Black and part of the LGBTQ+ community. Hostin concluded by advocating for the celebration of athletes' talents without discrimination based on sexual orientation.
