According to the Sunday Times Rich List, Sir Paul McCartney has become the first musician from the UK to achieve billionaire status.

The former Beatle, aged 81, saw his wealth increase by £50 million over the past year, thanks to touring, the valuable catalog of his past work, and Beyoncé's rendition of his 1968 classic "Blackbird".

Meanwhile, Gopi Hinduja and his family retained their position as the wealthiest individuals in the UK, amassing a fortune of £37.2 billion, marking the highest wealth ever recorded by the newspaper. Other notable figures on the list include Sir Elton John, Lord Lloyd-Webber, and David and Victoria Beckham, all meeting the minimum wealth entry of £350 million.

This year's list, consisting of 350 individuals and families, collectively held a combined wealth of £795.3 billion, surpassing the size of Poland's economy, as noted by the Sunday Times. However, Robert Watts, compiler of the Rich List, suggested that the era of Britain's billionaire boom may have reached its conclusion.

He observed declines in fortunes among home-grown entrepreneurs and noted the departure of some global super-rich individuals from the UK.

Watts emphasized the significant impact of the super-rich on British livelihoods and expressed uncertainty about the implications of a potential decline in billionaire wealth for the economy.
