Billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk are likely to elect Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis as president in 2024, he said on Twitter Wednesday.

DeSantis, who has yet to throw his hat into the ring for the race officially, is an ally of former President Donald Trump and is considered a favorite in the party should he run.

Musk's revelations come in response to another Twitter account called Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, which says in its bio that he follows well-known Tesla owners in the area. The conversation started after Musk responded to a tweet from Texas and announced Republican Myra Flores' victory in the May 34 special election.

"I voted for Myra Flores - my first time voting for a Republican," Musk tweeted in response to the newspaper's publication. Musk confirmed in late 2020 that he had moved to Texas, where he later moved Tesla's headquarters from California, after complaining about the harsh regulatory environment. "Big red wave in 2022," he tweeted.

Tesla's Silicon Valley profile asked Musk if he would vote for the Republican president, to which Musk replied, "No need." The account then asked where he was going, and Musk replied with one word, "DeSantis."

Another account named Spidey_ElonFan responded to Musk with a question: "But your political donations will be distributed equally, as you always do. Right??"

"I'm thinking of creating a 'Super Moderate Super PAC' to support centrist candidates from all parties," Musk said.

When asked about Musk's tweet at Wednesday's press conference, DeSantis said, "I'm focused on 2022, but with Elon Musk, I'd say, you know, I welcome support from African Americans. What can I say?" Musk is from South Africa.

Last month Musk said he would vote for Republicans in the upcoming election, although he said he had voted for Democrats in the past, including former President Barack Obama.

Musk said he voted for the Democrats "because they are (mostly) the party of goodness." But they have become a party of division and hatred, so I can no longer support them and will vote for the Republican Party."
