Former Health Minister Jeremy Hunt has revealed he had cancer but has since recovered.
Southwest Surrey Conservative MPs said that "every member of her family" had the disease, and she was "a minor."
The Health and Social Services Committee chairman said cancer had "dramatically affected his family."
He now plans to compete in a 5k race in July to raise money for cancer charities.
Mr. Hunt, Minister of Health from 2012 to 2018, said: "My work on the committee has shown me that there is much we can do to improve cancer survival." The two also supported the campaign to create a Cancer and Surgery Innovation Center at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guilford.
