Alejandra Rodriguez's quest for Miss Universe may have reached its conclusion, but she views her journey as a catalyst for societal change in perceptions of beauty. Crowned Miss Buenos Aires at 60, she made history as the first sexagenarian winner within the Miss Universe franchise.
Though she didn't clinch the Miss Argentina title to represent her nation in the pageant, Rodriguez's victory in the "best face" category symbolized a significant breakthrough, signaling the dawn of a paradigm shift in beauty standards.

"This marks the genesis of a transformative era," expressed Rodriguez, a seasoned attorney and journalist, in an interview with CNN en Español. "While external beauty traditionally takes precedence, I believe it's time for beauty's definition to evolve."
Rodriguez's participation was made feasible by a pivotal alteration in the Miss Universe organization's regulations concerning age. Formerly restricted to contestants aged 18 to 28, the elimination of the upper age limit in 2024 paved the way for her inclusion.
"This change is a step in the right direction, albeit gradual," remarked Rodriguez, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to break new ground.
The elimination of age constraints was just one facet of a broader initiative by the pageant to modernize its rules. In a historic departure from tradition, the franchise embraced the participation of married or divorced women, as well as those who have undergone childbirth or are currently pregnant.
