Happy to win twice.

Tamron Hall is still reeling after picking up her second Daytime Emmy for her self-titled talk show.

In New Orleans to celebrate Essence Fest for the first time since the pandemic, the 51-year-old star spoke to news on Saturday about the difference a few years can make.

"The final time we were here in 2019, we were just starting the show," Hall said. "Now we're back, and I won my second Emmy last week. So we're at a natural peak, and that's great."

For Hall, the moment he found out he was winning again was real. "I sat there in the audience; we came back in private. The first Emmy I won, we were all at home, and I studied on Zoom," he said.

"But being in the room with all my colleagues and my team and receiving this honor, it's just… I still can't believe it. I thought I heard my name, then I saw my executive producer, Quiana Burns, and I was like, 'Oh, they say my name, oh my God!"

Another highlight for Hall was taking home the trophy to his biggest little fan.

"The sweetest moment was when Moses opened the box," Hall said of her 3-year-old son with her husband, Steve Greener. I caught red-eye and rushed home that night, and he opened the box. Seeing him touch Emmy What is it? And he said "Emmy." It was very, very special."

Hall, who stepped down from her role on the Today Show in 2017, said the award "validates in a way that I approve of." But, he added, "Now that the show is real, I don't think about the people who said I couldn't do it. I think of the people who told me how to do it and how to do it by talking to people."
