The eldest daughter of Philippine PM Rodrigo Duterte has been sworn in as Vice President.
Sarah Duterte vowed to unite the Philippines at a ceremony in Davao.
There, the 44-year-old took over as mayor from his father more than a decade ago – before starting a career in federal politics.
He was sworn in for his nominee, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who would soon succeed his father as president.
"The days ahead could be full of challenges that call for us to be more united as a nation," Duterte said.
His tenure of six years with Ferdinand Marcos Jr. officially started on June 30. As candidates in the May election, the pair backed a historic landslide by building a solid alliance guided by the message of unity that helped many of their allies rise to power. And elsewhere in government.
In the Philippines, the President also Vice President are elected separately.
Duterte is a controversial "powerful" figure who came to power in 2016 and vowed to reduce crime and fix the country's drug crisis.
But critics say that during his five-year term, Duterte encouraged police to carry out thousands of extrajudicial killings of suspects in his "war on drugs."
Duterte initially said he would be vice president before changing his mind and announcing his resignation last month.
Ferdinand Marcos Jr. - known as Bongbong - also attended the event. Like his vice presidential candidate, he is the son of a former Philippine leader.
His notorious father, with whom they share the same name, was ousted from power as the country's dictator during the 1986 uprising.
