This is no joke, Danger! Host Maim Bialik talks about the symptoms she experienced after contracting COVID-19.
Maim Bialik has tested positive for COVID-19.
Danger! The moderator revealed his diagnosis to fans on Monday on Instagram and explained that he had contracted the virus after being vaccinated and strengthened.
"Hi everyone, not sure if this is clickbait, but I have COVID," the 46-year-old former Big Bang Theory star tell in a video posted on his main account.
She then refers to her followers on Instagram Live, which she does on her account for her podcast, Breakdown Mayim Bialik, where she discusses the symptoms and feelings of the whole situation.
"I have COVID, and it's no joke," he said in the video, adding that fatigue was his number one emotion. "It's very tiring; fatigue is something extraordinary. I had mononucleosis in college, and burnout occurs when you can.
"I hope this will end soon," Bialik said. "I try to believe that my body knows what to do. Unfortunately, I have asthma and thyroid disease, meaning it's an immune-compromised condition." To treat his symptoms, Bialik tried several things, including heating lemon juice with ginger and turmeric advice he shared from a friend.
"One of the annoy things about COVID is that everyone has something to do," Bialik said, reaching for his office to show him all the advice he had just received. "I've got zinc, magnesium, and the immune substance, D3, crazy vitamin C, which tastes pretty bad, but that means it's good for you."
"You know what else was weird? Graham crackers and dark chocolate!" "I don't know; that's what I miss."
Despite his jokes, Bialik told his followers he was "in no way trying to belittle any aspect of him," saying, "I know there are people out there who don't have the resources or the attention." It's something I've had since the beginning of COVID."
"I've been thinking about everyone with young children, especially single parents because I can't imagine taking care of young children right now," she added. "I know so many people worldwide are in this situation, and it breaks me down."
When he first contracted COVID, despite saying he "had to find us," Bialik stressed that he was disappointed it had finally happened to him.
"I'm sorry I took off my mask once, even outside," the former Blossom star said. "I was so scared. Why did I even come out? Why did I think something was wrong?"
"Please be careful," he told his followers at the end of the video. "I hope everyone is safe. I'll drink this and then sleep."
