Manuel Carlos Valls Galfetti, born on August 13, 1962, is a prominent French-Spanish politician with a long and distinguished career in both national and local politics. Raised in Barcelona to a Swiss mother and a Spanish father, Valls became deeply engaged in French politics, eventually rising to the role of Prime Minister of France under President François Hollande from 2014 to 2016.

Valls began his political journey as Mayor of Évry, serving from 2001 to 2012. His success in local governance led to his election to the National Assembly of France for the Essonne region in 2002, where he continued to develop his political influence. Known for his alignment with the social liberal branch of the Socialist Party, Valls espoused the values of Blairism, focusing on pragmatic policies that balanced social welfare with economic liberalization.
