In the nearly two years since Cordero died from complications from COVID at age 41, Klutts said he decided to reframe his death anniversary "as his new birthday."

The talk show host told News that on Tuesday, July 5, he took a sober break to think and remember his late love.
"Last year, I constructed it my mission to spend the day," he said. "Being on the water has always been heaven and safe therapy for me."
Kloots, 40, plans to spend the week with his family in Italy and visit some of the places where he honeymooned with Cordero in 2017. On Friday morning, Kloots transferred a photo of a helicopter flight with his sister Anna Kloots on his Instagram story. Later that day, he transferred a video of the boat ride, pictures from the seaside balcony, and views of the quaint Italian city.
He captioned the video, "Home Sweet Home." Cordero was 41 years old when he death from complications from COVID in 2020.
On the first anniversary of his death, Klutts said he was going through a "funeral procession" also could not get out of bed on the first anniversary.
"You never know what will happen on that day. You can wake up and be fine. And then you can wake up, and it hits you like a ton of bricks," he said. Kloots is hoping for an emotional restart this year.
"My goal this morning was to open my eyes to those feelings," she said in a conversation about grief and widowhood with Kelly Rizzo, who unexpectedly lost her husband Bob Saget last January when beloved "Full House" star Star died aged 65.
In the future, Kloots hopes he and his son Elvis, 3, "can celebrate instead of grieve."
